You searched “Turo reviews,” “Turo 5-star rate,” “Turo quality standards,” or “can Turo remove a review.” The 5-star rate is a 90-day quality bar Turo is raising in phases. A guest has 10 days after the trip ends. Turo generally will not take a review down. Asking once for the review is a different page.
Turo can change these numbers — check your listing.

The short answer
Turo’s Quality standards page:
Turo’s Removing a review | Hosts page: Turo generally will not remove a review, including claims that it is unfair, untruthful, or may impact your standing. A form on that article is the only way to ask. Not chat, phone, or email.
If this page and Turo’s site disagree, believe Turo. This is not legal advice and not a promise Turo will keep any listing or remove any review.
5-star rate
Turo’s Quality standards page rolls the increase out in three phases. Each phase has an evaluation date, an improvement period, and a deadline.
Evaluation date: Turo reviews hosts’ 90-day 5-star rate. Hosts below the upcoming threshold are notified and enter the improvement period.
Deadline date: Turo reviews hosts’ 5-star rate from the improvement period. Hosts who fail to reach the required threshold will have their accounts removed.
Improvement period: the time between evaluation and deadline. All trips completed during this period, including unrated trips, count toward meeting the required threshold by the deadline.
Help’s definition of 5-star rate at evaluation is specific: the percentage of five-star trip ratings received over the past 90 days leading up to the evaluation date. Do not treat All-Star’s 85% over 365 days as this number. That program is further down this page, kept separate on purpose.
| Phase | Evaluation | Improvement period | Deadline to avoid hosting restriction |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | April 28, 2026 | April 28 – September 14, 2026 | 65% 5-star rate by September 14, 2026 |
| 2 | September 14, 2026 | September 14, 2026 – January 4, 2027 | 67.5% 5-star rate by January 4, 2027 |
| 3 | January 4, 2027 | January 4 – April 26, 2027 | 70% 5-star rate by April 26, 2027 |
From Turo’s Quality standards Help. As of August 21, 2026, Phase 1’s improvement window is still open through September 14. Turo can change these numbers. This is not legal advice.
Maintenance rate
Same Quality standards article: maintenance rate is the percentage of five-star maintenance ratings received out of the last 10 completed trips. If a trip receives a five-star overall trip rating but no rating in the maintenance category, Turo will consider this a 5-star maintenance rating.
Unlike 5-star rate, which is evaluated at each phase deadline, maintenance rate is evaluated continuously. On each phase’s effective date, any vehicle below the new threshold on its last 10 trips will be automatically restricted from new bookings until an inspection is approved.
Help’s tip on that page: monitor each vehicle’s maintenance rate in the Vehicles tab, check the Reviews tab for issues guests flagged, and address maintenance items proactively — ratings often recover within a few trips. That is Turo’s wording, not a recovery guarantee from this site.
| Phase | Effective date | Maintenance rate threshold | Restriction |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | September 14, 2026 | 50% (up from 30%) | Vehicles below 50% on their last 10 trips: automatic restriction from new bookings until an inspection is approved |
| 2 | January 4, 2027 | 60% (up from 50%) | Same restriction shape, at 60% |
| 3 | April 26, 2027 | TBD by January 2027 | Turo will announce the new threshold and restriction details in January 2027 |

Maintenance essentials
Turo’s Quality standards page: maintenance requirements include, but are not limited to, these listed essentials. Turo reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to decide if a maintenance issue falls short of standards required by the platform.
That list is Help’s. This page will not invent a 4 mm brake pad or a 5/32" tire. Confirm the live article before you spend money on a repair you think Turo “requires.”
The 10-day window
Turo’s Reviewing a trip | Guests page: a guest can submit a review beginning three hours before and up to 10 days after the trip ends. There are two parts: a star rating and a written review. If they rate one to four stars, Turo requires a written review of at least 25 characters.
Turo will display the rating and review on the listing once both sides rate, or within 10 days of the trip ending, whichever comes first. Once submitted, they cannot change the star rating or the written review — Help says even customer support cannot. Miss the 10-day window and they cannot leave one. Neither the host nor support can extend it.
Category boxes on that page: cleanliness, communication, convenience, listing accuracy, and maintenance. Cleanliness as a violation fee is still Turo cleaning. Asking once after you have marked the car returned — and not offering cash for five stars — is First trip.
If that return used a lockbox, bag the lockbox fob when the car is back so a boxed key cannot wake the car. Pickup order is still license, then the code — Turo lockbox pickup.
How to respond
Turo’s Writing and responding to reviews | Hosts page: if a guest left a written review, you may respond within 30 days. Double-check it. You will not be able to change or remove the response. Responses are public.
If they left a rating only, it will not be displayed publicly. Help says it is visible to you on the Business page. You are not able to respond to trip ratings. If a guest says they left a review and you cannot find it, Help’s note is: they likely left a rating and not a written review.
Help’s suggestions for the response, not this site’s script: thank them and invite them back; be polite, professional, and empathetic; note concerns they raised and let them know you heard the feedback. This page will not invent a “how to get 5 stars” guarantee, a 24-hour cooling-off rule, or a refund-for-stars line. Offering payment, extra services, or a discounted rate for a review is a removal criterion on the other Help article — do not create that record.
Hosts also have 10 days after the trip ends to rate the guest. Same submit-once rule.
Removing a review
Turo’s Removing a review | Hosts page: Turo generally will not remove a review. That includes reviews related to disagreements about what occurred during a trip, or claims that a review is unfair, untruthful, or may impact your standing on Turo.
Turo will consider removing a trip review only if the review:
That “is within 30 days post trip” line is Help’s wording, printed as a bullet, with no extra test on that article. This page will not invent one. The 30-day response window above is a different clock: how long you have to reply to a written review, not a removal rule.
How to ask: complete the form linked from that Help article, in its entirety. The form is the only way. Turo will not accommodate requests made via chat, phone, or email. Turo will review the request once, exercise sole and exclusive discretion, and treat the decision as final.
This is not legal advice. Confirm the live article before you file.
Automated cancel review
Same Removing a review article: when you cancel a trip, Turo will post an automated review on your listing. Turo will consider removing an automated review only when:
Turo’s responding page: Power Hosts (US, AU, CA, UK) and All-Star Hosts can respond to automated cancellation reviews; hosts who have not achieved that status cannot. The $25 / $50 host-cancel fee, the unlist table, and when Turo may excuse a cancel are on Turo host cancel — not here.

Five questions
On Turo’s Quality standards page, 5-star rate is the percentage of five-star trip ratings received over the past 90 days leading up to the evaluation date. Turo is raising it to 70% by April 2027: 65% by September 14, 2026; 67.5% by January 4, 2027; 70% by April 26, 2027. During an improvement period, all trips completed in that window — including unrated trips — count toward the deadline. This is not All-Star’s 85% over 365 days. Confirm live Help. This is not legal advice.
Hosts below the upcoming threshold are notified and enter an improvement period. At the deadline, Turo reviews the 5-star rate from that period. Hosts who fail to reach the required threshold will have their accounts removed — Help’s wording. Phase 1: 65% by September 14, 2026. Phase 2: 67.5% by January 4, 2027. Phase 3: 70% by April 26, 2027. Confirm live Help.
Percentage of five-star maintenance ratings out of the last 10 completed trips. A five-star overall rating with no maintenance-category rating counts as 5-star maintenance. Evaluated continuously. September 14, 2026: 50% (up from 30%) — vehicles below that on the last 10 trips are auto-restricted from new bookings until an inspection is approved. January 4, 2027: 60%. April 26, 2027: TBD in January 2027. Confirm live Help.
Generally no. Turo’s Removing a review | Hosts page: Turo generally will not remove a review, including unfair, untruthful, or standing-impact claims. Turo will consider removal only for the named list (TOS-violating guest; PII; profanity; incentivized; extortion; within 30 days post trip; booked trip that did not take place). A form is the only way — not chat, phone, or email. Reviewed once; Turo’s discretion; final. Confirm live Help. This is not legal advice.
Up to 10 days after the trip ends. They can start three hours before it ends. Rating plus written review. Displayed once both rate, or within 10 days of trip end, whichever comes first. Cannot change after submit. Miss the window and they cannot leave one. Confirm Turo’s Reviewing a trip | Guests page.

The first-review note is a thank-you, not a 5-star contract. Cleaning between trips is still your cost. A host cancel still posts an automated review.
