You searched “Turo smoking fee,” “Turo smoking violation,” “guest smoked in my Turo,” or “Turo vape smell.” Odor is not enough. Photograph physical evidence. Report Issue → Smoking violation within 72 hours. The US fee is $150 plus 3% — if Turo agrees.

The short answer
Turo’s page about the no-smoking policy for guests: hosts may report physical evidence of smoking. Clear evidence → Turo charges a $150 smoking violation fee plus a 3% processing fee (US, Australia, Canada, UK; US$ here). France is $50 plus 3% on that same article. Turo may close the guest account.
Turo’s page about reporting a smoking issue: open the trip Details page → Report Issue → Smoking violation. You have up to 72 hours after the trip ends. Pre-trip photos: taken no more than 24 hours before start and uploaded no more than 24 hours after start. Post-trip photos: taken and uploaded no more than 24 hours after trip end. Missing photos, or photos outside that window, and Turo will not process the report.
If this page and Turo’s site disagree, believe Turo. This is not legal advice and not a promise Turo will side with every photo of a dusty cupholder.
What counts
Turo’s no-smoking policy covers the use of — and is not limited to — tobacco or tobacco-related products, marijuana or marijuana substitutes, e-cigarettes, or personal vaporizers. Smoking is prohibited in any vehicle listed on Turo, even if a host or a previous guest may have done so. Hosts must hand over a smoke-free car.
Hosts may report a guest violation if they submit a photo or other evidence of any of these, from that same Help page:
That last line is Turo’s wording, not a license to file “it smelled like a bar.” Photograph the mark, the butt, the ash, the residue. Same angles as pre-trip. Metadata on. Shoot in the app when you can. The first-booking photo habit is on First trip.
A Turo vape smell is still in the policy — vaporizers are named — and still an odor until you have something physical. Do not invent a second fee because the cabin is sticky. Do not Venmo the guest a “smoke tax.”
The Turo smoking fee
Published smoking-violation fee on Turo’s guest no-smoking page:
Starred amounts on that Help page: A$ for Australia, CA$ for Canada, € for France, £ for the United Kingdom, US$ for the United States and its territories. This page is US.
Turo charges the guest that fee when evidence is clear. That guest article does not print what percent of the $150 lands in host earnings. This site’s plans page lists approved cleaning or smoking fees as 100% of approved fees, pointing at Turo — confirm live. We will not invent a host-share of the smoking fee that Help did not break out on the no-smoking article.

How to report
From Turo’s reporting-a-smoking-issue page:
Turo will not process reports with missing photos or photos taken outside that timeframe. Support typically takes 48 hours to review. Status: log into help.turo.com and open My Conversations.
Turo’s page about reimbursement invoice guidelines: cleaning and smoking also have up to 72 hours after trip end to submit an invoice and required documentation. You can put more than one incidental on one invoice. You cannot mix an incidental cost and a policy issue on the same invoice. Fuel, extra miles, and a smoking violation are not one receipt. Stay in Turo. Physical damage is still the 24-hour host-claim window — Turo damage claim and Claims.
Not a cleaning fee
Turo’s page about the cleaning policy for hosts: unpleasant odors, including smoking odor, do not qualify for a cleaning violation. Turo’s note on that page: if there is eligible physical evidence of smoking, report it under the No smoking policy — not as cleaning. The cleaning walk, the $150 cleaning violation, and what is just a vacuum, live on Turo cleaning.
Do not file smoke as “major stain.” Do not file a vape cloud as biowaste. The clocks look similar (72 hours, photos) and the dollars look similar ($150 plus 3% in the US). They are different Report Issue labels. Pick the one Turo named for the evidence you have.
Getting the smell out
Turo’s reporting-a-smoking-issue page currently tells US and Canada hosts they can remove tobacco, vaping, and cannabis smells in 20 minutes with a Smart Tumbler odor elimination kit from Spiffy, using password hostaccess25! and promo code TURO20 for 20% off. That is Turo’s live Help promo as of this page’s date — promos expire; confirm the article before you type a code. It is not a required purchase and it is not an Amazon listing. Photograph first. Report inside 72 hours. The odor kit does not pause the report clock.
Prohibited use
Turo’s page about prohibited uses includes smoking in the vehicle. If a guest engages in a prohibited use, Turo says it may result in a violation fee, holding them fully liable for damage repair, lowering or fully removing liability coverage, voiding protection for physical damage to a host’s vehicle, temporarily suspending them, or removing them from Turo. That list is consequences, not a second published smoking dollar. We will not invent one next to the $150 fee.
A burn that ate a seat is still a damage claim if it is physical damage — 24 hours, matching photos — not a reason to skip the smoking report. Two paths if both apply. Confirm live Help.

Your month
The homepage calculator starts with example numbers so you can change them: $60/day, 50% occupancy, $500 fixed, $25/trip, a $60 maintenance reserve, 80% Balanced. A smoking violation is not a typical extra. It does not turn 50% into a better month. Turnover still lives in that $25. The vacuum still runs. The $150 is for the trip that actually has evidence Turo accepts.

Five questions
$150 plus a 3% processing fee in the US, Australia, Canada, and the UK when Turo finds clear evidence the guest or passengers smoked; $50 plus 3% in France, on Turo’s page about the no-smoking policy for guests (US$ here). Turo may close the guest account. This site’s plans page lists approved smoking fees as 100% of approved fees, pointing at Turo — confirm live. Amounts can change.
No. Smoking odor is ineligible as cleaning on Turo’s page about the cleaning policy for hosts. Hosts report physical evidence: new burn marks, a smoked cigarette, ash that is not sand, or other indisputable proof. The cleaning walk is on Turo cleaning.
Details → Report Issue → Smoking violation, within 72 hours of trip end. Pre- and post-trip photo windows are 24 hours on each side as Turo prints them. Missing or late photos: Turo will not process it. Support typically 48 hours; My Conversations on help.turo.com. Confirm Turo’s page about reporting a smoking issue.
E-cigarettes and personal vaporizers are in Turo’s no-smoking policy. A vape smell is still an odor. Odors are not a cleaning fee. Report physical evidence of smoking, not the vibe. Amounts and lists can change — read the live article.
72 hours after the trip ends, on Turo’s reporting page and on Turo’s page about reimbursement invoice guidelines. Do not mix a policy issue and an incidental on one invoice. Photo windows are separate 24-hour clocks. Support review: typically 48 hours. Clocks can change.
