You searched “Turo fuel,” “Turo missing gas,” “Turo $10 refuel fee,” or “how to invoice Turo refueling.” This page is the missing-fuel invoice for a gas or hybrid — gauge photos, a receipt, a $10 fee. It is not the prepaid refuel Extra, and it is not a one-line pickup note.
Turo can change these numbers — check your listing.

The short answer
Turo’s How to charge guests for vehicle refueling | Hosts (last updated 2026-07-29):
If this page and Turo’s site disagree, believe Turo. This is not legal advice and not a promise Turo will pay every fuel invoice.
What this Help article is
The URL still says “refueling or EV recharging.” Search indexes still reprint Supercharger lines, a $20 low-battery fee, and under-20% / battery-band math at that same address. The live article last updated 2026-07-29 does not print an EV fee table. It prints gas, petrol, or diesel, and a gas-powered / hybrid eligible row: missing fuel + $10.
This page follows the live article. We will not invent a Turo EV recharging table from old snippets. Prepaid EV charge, like prepaid refuel, is an Extra — if they bought it, stop. That Extra lives on Turo extras. Connector type and a spare cable for an EV listing still belong on First trip.
How to invoice
From Turo’s charging-for-refueling page, in order:
Stay in Turo. Do not Venmo “gas money.” Do not text a dashboard selfie and call it an invoice. Shoot the gauge in the app when you can so the metadata is actually there. Same habit as the rest of the first-trip photo set — First trip.
If this return used a lockbox, bag the lockbox fob when the car is back so a boxed key cannot wake the car. Photograph the gauge first. Pickup order is still license, then the code — Turo lockbox pickup.
| What Turo prints | What that means on this trip | |
|---|---|---|
| Eligible (gas-powered / hybrid) | Value of missing fuel + $10 fee | The gallons you put back, at the receipt’s cost, plus Turo’s $10. US$ in the US. |
| Receipt clock | Dated no more than 72 hours after the trip ended | Pump the same day you get the car back. A Monday receipt on a Friday-ended trip is late. |
| Photos | Pre- and post-trip fuel-gauge photos, plus the receipt. Metadata: date, time, geolocation | A cropped gauge with location off is not the set Help asked for. |
| Ineligible — early return | Vehicle / host-driven issues | They brought it back early because the car or you caused the problem. Do not invoice fuel. |
| Ineligible — host-initiated swap | Refueling charges for the original vehicle ineligible | You swapped the car. The first car’s tank is not this invoice. |
| Ineligible — roadside | Accidents, incidents, or police seizures where the guest is not at fault | Turo denies when the guest is not responsible. Filing anyway can cost $50. |
From Turo’s How to charge guests for vehicle refueling | Hosts (last updated 2026-07-29). $10 and $50 are US$ in the US; A$ / CA$ / € / £ elsewhere on that footnote. Turo can change these numbers. This is not legal advice.
The $10 fee
Help’s eligible row for gas-powered and hybrid vehicles is one line: value of missing fuel + $10 fee. The $10 is on Turo’s article. It is not a number we made up, and it is not a “convenience” you type on top.
The homepage calculator starts with example numbers so you can change them: $60/day, 50% occupancy, $500 fixed, $25/trip, a $60 maintenance reserve, 80% Balanced. The $25/trip default is turnover clean plus fuel you absorb — an example, not a Turo fuel fee. Do not quote $25 as what Turo charges for gas. Do not bake Turo’s $10 into that $25. One is a planning cost you pay even when they return it full. The other is an invoice Turo may allow when the gauge is short and they did not buy prepaid.
The 72-hour receipt
That is the clock this Help article prints. Not “sometime this week.” Not “when I get to Costco.” Number of gallons or liters, cost, date. Photograph the receipt. Put that photo on the invoice with the two gauge shots.
This live article does not print a separate “you have 72 hours to tap Send” line, and it does not print the 5 / 4 / 3-day incidental windows from the earnings plans. The receipt date is what it names. Confirm the live page on the trip in front of you — Turo can change these numbers.
Prepaid
New listings are auto-opted into a prepaid refuel Extra. The guest can add or drop extras before start. Look at trip Details before you build a Refueling invoice.
Turo’s Offering Extras page: you may not request post-trip reimbursement from guests who purchased an Extra for pre-paid refuel, pre-paid EV charging, or unlimited mileage. If they bought prepaid, you already got paid to handle the tank. A second invoice is the thing Turo tells you not to file.
How to offer, reprice, or turn that Extra off is on Turo extras. This page does not set the Extra’s price.
Ineligible invoices
From the same Help article: Turo denies reimbursement requests for refueling charges when the guest is not responsible. Hosts who submit such a request may be charged a $50 policy violation fee. Named on that page:
Do not treat a host cancel, a swap, or a tow as a full-tank invoice. Host-cancel fees are a different page — Turo host cancel. A citation is Tickets, not Refueling — Turo tickets.

Five questions
Yes, if they return a gas, petrol, or diesel vehicle lower than at start. Eligible on gas-powered and hybrid: value of the missing fuel plus $10 (US$ in the US). Turo denies when the guest is not responsible — early return for vehicle or host-driven issues, a host-initiated swap (original vehicle ineligible), or roadside incidents where the guest is not at fault. An ineligible request may draw a $50 fee. Live Help (2026-07-29) is this gas/hybrid invoice, not an EV Supercharger table. If they bought prepaid, do not also invoice. Confirm Turo’s How to charge guests for vehicle refueling | Hosts.
Trip Details → Create or view invoices → Create invoice → Refueling → Continue. Add pre- and post-trip fuel-gauge photos and the fuel receipt. Trip photos need metadata (date, time, geolocation). The receipt must show gallons or liters and cost, dated no more than 72 hours after the trip ended. Send (app) or Send Invoice (web). Confirm live Help.

Do not also invoice missing fuel. Turo’s extras page: no post-trip reimbursement for prepaid refuel, prepaid EV charging, or unlimited mileage. Check trip Details. The Extra is on Turo extras. This page is the invoice when they did not buy prepaid.
Next
Turnover you absorb still sits in the calculator as an example so you can change it. Occupancy is still an example. A ticket is still a different invoice.
